This month saw the end of some faithful friends! I’m sorry to report that our power tools were stolen from a site in Streatham, Wandsworth. We lost a hedgecutter, leaf blower and a small climbing chainsaw designed for tree reductions. The van was left unattended for seconds as I walked into to the garden with our client to check that they were happy with our work and although we had only been a few meters away, our tools had disappeared. Two very kind nurses were able to get the registration of the van and a description of the people, but unfortunately the police were unable to find the van. It seems that tree surgery tools are very desirable to the thieves of south west London
Coincidentally, the last time our tools were stolen, some three years ago, we were working for the same client but at another house in Balham!
New tools for tree surgery
Despite the inconvenience and disappointment that a theft causes, it does give us a very good excuse to invest in new kit and buy some very shiny new tools! Also it helps to be philosophical about the theft when I remember how desperately tired and worn out our old tools were. We can only hope that the new owners who don’t mind buying and using stolen equipment are thoroughly disappointed with their illegal purchases!
